Days afterDisney officially announced that the next picture in the franchise , Predator : Badlands , will be coming to field of operations next class , a Fox executive director bait that a second flick is also coming out next twelvemonth . And , they may eventually take onAlienonce again too .
“ AfterPreybecame a success , [ that celluloid ’s director]Dan [ Trachtenberg]came back and say he did n’t want to doPrey 2 . And we ’re like , ‘ What do you desire to do ? ’ ” twentieth Century Studios Chief Executive Steve Asbel toldthe Hollywood Reporter . “ And he rattled off a bunch of ideas that were really crazy but really cool . We ’ve actually done two of them . Two are coming out next year . One I ca n’t talk about yet , but the other one is thelive - actionPredatorfilm with Elle Fanningthat just wrap in New Zealand . That ’ll be out theatrically sometime next year . ”
When press about what this second picture show is , Asbel would n’t budge . “ There ’s a secondPredatormovie that we have different plans for . Dan has actually directed both , ” Asbel say . “ There ’s a secretPredatormovie that will come in out before the theatrical one but I ca n’t say anything about [ it ] yet . ”

What he can say a bit more about isBadlands . “ Bad Lands … is an utterly bonkers idea , ” Asbel say . “ It is a sci - fi thing , but it ’s not what everybody think it is . And I think of , it ’s awesome . It is so nuts . But in Dan , we trust . ”
So , what the heck is he talking about ? But we have n’t gotten to that breaker point . And we ’re not just go to sleep together it out . ”
