I acquire this scene in Pittsburgh PA on July 4th 2013 . The shot was charm on top of Mt Washington over looking the city . The violent storm drop business district by less than 5 mile and we almost were rained out . I was able to conquer two awe-inspiring shots like this that night . The other was a single pencil style bolt but this one with the different licks of the thunderbolt is my favourite . It was look at with a Nikon D5100 and a Sigma 17 – 70 lens 4 second picture , f8 ISO100 in full manual mode .

seek to get a consummate shot with fast shutter speeds and wearisome ones , I eventually essay to take out - of focus guessing . I ’ve done this in retiring years with an image bokeh but this year I did nt have the designs with me . So I just went ahead and took them normally . After two or three , I stopped and went back to concenter . Long write up short , one of my bokeh stab front nicer than the ones in focus . trust you like it Location : Ridgefield , NJ Date : 2025-05-03 Canon T3i 50 millimeter Lens ISO 100 f/2.8 Shutter Speed : 1 sec

Okay so I was heading to a client ’s mansion last Nox ( in Long Beach ) and at the end of one of our conversation , i pardon myself to go get some “ air ” – More like SoCal greenery to be true . So my brother state me we should take the air down the Blvd to check out the pyrotechnic show . How perfect , herb and exploding flack bombs in the sky – excellent combination . So i set up my tripod – Attached my Canon T1i along with my Tamron 18 - 270 millimetre lens . prepare my pic to BULB fire off by a trigger – sic my focal distance to 27 mm – go under my f/ check to 8 at ISO 100 – and set about to raise off 6 sec shots ! And BOOM ! ( pardon the pun ) – I capture this peach .

This was sprout on a Canon 60D at 85 mm , f/22 , ISO160 , and on bulb musical mode ( exposure was in all probability 4 - 6 moment ) . This pellet is from the Portsmouth , NH firework show last night . They were properly overhead so I was n’t really in any position to get a squeamish broad shot of the metropolis , so I decided to do a lot of in - photographic camera cropping . This is one of my front-runner . I like how at the bound you ca n’t tell if it ’s something furry or something on flack . It was a somewhat breezy night so I end up with some really elegant wisps of spark .

Today was a tempestuous 24-hour interval in Florida and we decide to not to drive to Tampa to watch the firework . My girlfriend and my son pose up some chairperson in the front yard after the rainwater and watch the neighbors perch off some bottle rockets and firecrackers . For boot I got out the tv camera to try out and catch something , then behind our house a enceinte display started . I got this one with my Nikon D80 w/ AF Nikkor 50 mm genus Lens ISO 100 , f/11 , 2.5s .

The trees are too high to see the town ’s fireworks from our house , and we were too lazy to actually drive somewhere closer , so we did what any red - full-blooded American would do and just waved around a crew of ice in the back railway yard . This is a 45 2nd exposure on a Canon 5D3 , 17 mm at f/7.1 ISO100 . I lit the ice , started the exposure ( using Magic Lantern to dial in the exposure meter in Bulb mode ) , drew out the varsity letter , then put up still while my wife hit the pilot button on a wink for the portrait at the end . This was the third take .

I conk out to a very decent pyrotechnic show we have every twelvemonth here around central Mississippi . This is the first time I ’ve taken July 4th this serious since I ’m now in photography schooling . This was the best out of many shots although I did get a clustering of awe-inspiring pictures . This was taken at 6 mo . ISO 100 and Aperture f/18 . I was very well-chosen at how this turned out and I look forward to doing this every year on July 4th !

Fireworks , exciting . Photos of fireworks , not always so much . So I brought my friend Sergey to punch up my pyrotechnic picture , and he does n’t let down . In this one , I can just hear the national anthem in the grubby sound of galvanizing guitar playing along with the firework . I extend down to Long Beach , CA on July 3rd to take hold of my firework shot . Less crowds , less hassle , better for everyone . I decided to grab a whole bunch of tightly framed scene while move the stress mob around during the exposure . This resulted in legion really bizzarre appear shots with this particular one being my favorite . I cooled off the ashen balance in position which helped to give it that extra “ other worldly ” tactile sensation . Shot on my Nikon D600 at these place setting : f7.1 / 4 seconds / ISO 100 / Nikkor 24 - 85 @ 70 mm .

This was shot on a Nikon D50 ( Old schoolhouse ? ) with a Nikkor 18 - 55 DX VR f3.5 - 5.6 lens . It was shot at 20 mm focused to infinity at an ISO of 200 and fstop of 3.5 for 10 seconds . So the chronicle ? I have the groovy lot of living on Oahu , and in the morning we were heading out to the east side to hike up Koko Head and saw that Mauanaloa Bay feature “ the best fireworks showing . ” So after some grill’n in the good afternoon , as every American should , we headed back out that way . Our plan was to sit on China Walls , but ended up with the sentiment of “ We belike ca n’t see anything from here . ” So we walked on down to some unnamed beach access and chilled out with a wad of folk music ’s play’n Hawaiian music and watch’n the pyrotechnic . There was a huge house party rocking behind us that illumine up the top of the penny-pinching palm trees with reasonably cool upshot , and I ’m loving how the piddle light up like lava . Appropriate , since we were sitting on a crater .

This was taken with a Canon Rebel T31 using the kit 18 - 55 mm electron lens . I put a varying North Dakota filter on the lens and had it set to its light setting . The camera was in manual mode with the ISO at 100 , the aperature set to f8 , and the shutter speed set to bulb style . I cropped the image at the bottom in Camera Raw and used a graduated filter on the bottom part of the image to get the exposure a bit . I survive in a neighbourhood with a hill at the edge that provides a great view of the surround community . I set the camera at the top of the Benny Hill , pointed it at the houses and set the shutter exposed for a few proceedings to see what I could capture . It was part experimentation and part luck since it took a moment of trial and error to get the configurations right . I also had to be repoint towards a bunch of houses that all happen to be set off fireworks at the same time .

Canon 5DMarkIII My photo was taken in Toronto on the Toronto Islands like a shot across from the CN Tower and the Harbourfront . This was the first time in years that the Harbourfront hosted a fireworks show so I was capable to find a spot that was n’t crowded and was able to setup my tripod well . This was my favourite capture because the fireworks lines are crisp and the different coloured ( colored ) lights reflected on Lake Ontario . After pass nearly six hour in a kayak , I was able-bodied to get a few barb off before the rain came . Long exposures and wave do n’t seem to mix well so I turned over to Automatic and snapped by to see if I could get anything worthwhile . I care this one because it shows clearly the skyline of Columbus , the US Army of kayak underneath and of trend , it was n’t fuzzy like every other freaking farsighted exposure dig I hear to take . The television camera used is a Sony DSC - HX200V on the automatic stage setting . I am sure a DSLR would take a better icon but nothing was move to do much better when your sauceboat is perpetually rock . No matter what you expend on gear , setting you choose or how firm your hand can be . Not that I would twist down such a gift .

On the afternoon of the fourth , I hike over to Memorial Drive in Cambridge with my camera , tripod , stale drink , food and a chair in tow ( there was lots of sweat involved ) to get a good dapple for the evening ’s fireworks here in Boston . While taking picture of various pyrotechnic being shot off at a party , one of the motor tubes was point at a shallow angle in the sand . At the meter I was experimenting with higher ISO and a shorter shutter stop number in endeavour to trim down the extended trail , and being able-bodied to shoot by handwriting . I was on a beach with no tripod , so I did n’t desire all my photos turning up blurry . This guessing came out perfectly . I forebode the blowup and snapped the shot just before the motor shell exploded , and the shutter closed before the remainder of the lustrous parabolic trails set in . This image was captured during firework display in downtown San Antonio . Of course , that ’s about the only thing that went right . We meant to go all the way into the park where they were launching the fireworks but point up too late to get a good spot . I brought my tripod with me , hoping to use that to create this pic but of course , forgot the transcriber for my tv camera . So I realized my only fashion of creating any good sense of focus was using the Tower of the Americas prominently displayed on the left side of the exposure . canyon T2i set to 1/400 photograph time with f/3.5 , lens of the eye at 14 mm , and ISO 6400 .

This is a dead reckoning of the firework show hold every yr at the land club about a block from our home . I took this shot from our front steps so that our blinds and screen door did n’t interfere , but this is fundamentally the scene that we are golden enough to have from our support room couch . The silhouette in the foreground is my neighbor ’s ceiling and Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree . This 4th of July was my first attempt at shoot pyrotechnic . I was initially faint and shooting with 1 - 3s shutter velocity , but soon started experimenting with up to 10 - 15s . This shot was taken with my Canon T4i and 18 - 135 mm kit genus Lens . I call this pic : Anytown , USA I recently got into foresighted exposure photography after I purchased my first DSLR last workweek , so I decided to experiment with it at my towns fireworks last dark ( July 5th ) I tinkered with all the preferences until I beat something right , and candidly I had no melodic theme what I was doing . My friends wanted a post by a tree diagram in the back of the field , so that ’s where I decide to setup . After getting some abyssal shots , I took this , and I really feel that this shot specify the veneration and astonishment that fireworks bring when people watch them . IT reminds me of a falls made of fire . I resolve not to edit the image at all even though it could use a bit of body of work . Shot with a Canon t3i , 39 mm , f/22 , 10 sec photo , 3200 ISO .

My fiance and I give out out to the Chicago Lakefront to determine the pyrotechnic on the Fourth and found a nice blot on a divine service road in Montrose Harbor . The Navy Pier fireworks were probably 8 miles down the lakefront , so none of those pictures were quite right with the small kit lens I have . There were a few radical of people with mortars properly at the mouth of the harbor who were putting on their own show . It was nice to have these other sideshow going , since the official show was only 15 minutes long . Canon 7D 28 - 135 mm f3.5 Camera background : Shutter belt along 1/125 , Aperture F3.5 , ISO3200 “ Starry Eyed Night ” It was hard to pick one photo , but this photograph stuck out to me because of the ignition and grammatical construction of admiration on my little brother ’s boldness . This is the second time celebrating the 4th of July with my little brother using fireworks and I knew he would be a pure subject . It was a beautiful and brisk day in our backyard , but we were having issues stupefy the ice to work by rights . To make a lng stroy short the sparkler would not unhorse and then they would n’t fizz / body of work properly . SO we finally got a brace of them lit and effervescent . I decide to call this blastoff “ The Morning After . ” ( The rules did n’t state that the fireworks needed to be going off at the prison term of the exposure . ) I was going for a bicycle drive the morning of July 5th , and detect all the wad of spent fireworks on the curb that had been swept up and had n’t quite made it to the trash bin yet . I ’m no photographer , but think it would be a fun take on the challenge . Used my Canon Rebel T4i , f/10 , 1/250 sec , ISO-100 , 55 mm . I did utterly nothing to the photograph . Probably would have if my four nipper would have given me the time .

I am a Padre of three young kids , the old of which has been fighting cancer for 2 years . You may have seen him in the video recording from last old age Make - A - Wish / Nerdist Course of the Force . He is “ The King of Fast ” in the R2 getup I made him . In fact we will be running in that event this approaching weekend to aid raise money for other kids to go on wish trips like we did . The good thing about take pyrotechnic is drop minute with my mob having fun out at the ballpark . bask the fact that our son is still contend and doing well enough to be out with us . We have missed more holidays and event than I wish to tell . My eldest Logos Elijah sat on my lap and used the remote trigger for some of the photos , The competition rules are clear on 1 entry per e - postal service and no multiple emails from one person . Being 5 1/2 years old he does n’t have a dedicated email address . This is the best of his photos : http://www.flickr.com / photos / bradher … and the one I would have enter on his behalf . The rules state that I could send it in , however there is no direction the mail would get to you before the competition ends on monday . It ’s an figure of speech of a new case of “ carapace within a shell ” pyrotechnic impression . For My compliance , I have a mickle of photo from this solar day that I am proud of . I have let in attached to this electronic mail the one that my friend on Facebook vote their ducky . It ’s one of mine as well . It ’s well pile in stature and shows footing cake and 3 size of mortars along with a adept panorama of the statues at the amphitheater gate . Canon 5D MkII f/13 9s 200iso 17 - 40L @ 17 mm Manfrotto 055XPROB Pro Tripod with 808RC4 Head Quick Release Cable , Bulb Mode . I Shoot RAW , process in Lightroom 5 I have been photographing pyrotechnic for several years now at my local show . alas our local show in Culver City was dark this year due to champaign renovation . We where tip off by our friend Mike at Pyro Spectaculars that the longest show in the state would be down at the Los Angeles Coliseum and he would be triggering it . We setup a few hours early with a boastful tripod all setup to verify I could get the shaft I desire . Using google maps and the shell info from Mike I was able to calculate ( pythagorean theorem ) the 61 deg slant of to the top of the mellow eggshell . I aimed my 17 mm ( 91 hFOV ) genus Lens up at 30 deg and prefocused my fishing rig to eternity . I try and keep the camera a good 6′ off the primer to ensure I can get the crew in the slam . Without the crowd you lose the shell . In this shell it also get me see about 60 cell phone taking photos of the fireworks . In many of the images you may understandably make out the nip they where taking on their screens . With my family by my side we sat and watched the show . More or less every 9 to 20 seconds I would start a new exposure . That part is less skill and more fine art . I just like to figure out when the silver screen with have a good sheet of visible light . I shoot stopped down to f13 so I know I can do a 30 2nd exposure of the background before I get into over vulnerability . It also helps with the focus . Each Image is like a painting that I ca n’t control , I often strain and get a intermixture of cakes , flares , and mortars in the shot . Those are my favourite where the whole range of a function can be meet with Light . There where 2,000 lbs and 1,300 pyrotechnic launched at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum by my friend Mike Tockstein for Pyro Spectaculars on July 4th 2013 . you could see the residue of the lot here , along with some behind the scenes shots of the mortar , control board , and techs :

I ’m Kelsey Ito and I ’m from Hawaii . This weekend was the triennial “ Zürifescht ” which is fundamentally a political party thrown by the metropolis of Zürich to lionise the metropolis of Zürich . Part of the show is the Friday and Saturday night fireworks display which is half an minute of complete awe-inspiring , in the literally sense . Musically choreographed and kindle from barge in the lake this even draws around 3 million multitude to the usually quiet Swiss city . So due to a lucky coincidence my city here in Switzerland ( Zürich ) was having its 3 - twenty-four hour period - prospicient self - solemnization . Two nights of Fireworks , everlasting for me to participate in the challenge . So everyone was sitting on a grassy slope and I was primed with my minor tripod , But like always it takes one guy to ruin it for everyone , As soon as the show begin , a bozo stood in front of everyone and started taking pictures of the fireworks with his earphone , stuff the few for everyone behind him . To get the shot was a pain in the neck . I got to the area to set up really early . It turns out they switch the launch dot of the firework from old years . So once the show began I had to relocate very tight . I was sprinting with camera equipment through mud to get to the new placement which was very muddy . I missed half the show relocating . I watched a video earlier in the Clarence Shepard Day Jr. from FroKnowsPhoto.com explain pyrotechnic picture taking . I was really suprised that ISO is limit really low with it . television camera : Nikon D5100 Lens : Nikon 18 - 55 mm 3.5 F - stoppage : 4.5 Exposure : 4 sec Iso : 160

Camera : Olympus OM - D Lens : Panasonic Leica 25 mm F Stop : 3.5 ISO : 1250 Shutter : 1/400 Story : Just trying to take some cool photograph of sparklers and utmost DOF and I was give out miserably . realise the lens system I shoot with in the past was a 50 mm on an APS - C bit ( similar to 80 mm on a 35 millimeter setup ) and I was now buck with a 25 millimetre on a micro 4/3rds setup ( alike to 50 mm on a 35 millimeter setup ) . After melting my lens hood from puzzle too near to the sparklers , I reach up and started shooting more in the darkness . Got this freak smoke pith as a result . pyrotechnic = Love . wreak out in the end !

This picture barely qualifies , but if you look closely there are two fireworks in the background signal . Before the local city fireworks lead off I take a few farsighted picture of the Fair . Little did I know , from this vantage compass point I could see 5 - 6 other firework appearance in the vale . After two sudden rain cascade I packed up my photographic camera and manoeuvre dwelling house before the Fair firework depart . tv camera : Canon T3i Shutter Speed : 20 Aperture : 25.0 ISO focal ratio : 100 Lens : EF - S18 - 55 mm

.8 sec . | f/11 | ISO-800 | Nikon D7000 For the 4th of July I went to Seattle and saw their fireworks show on Lake Union . My dad has an office with a balcony miss the lake , so I would n’t have to deal with other people . However , a marina sit down between the balcony and the flatboat the shot the firework off of , so I had to go perpendicular rather than horizontal to annul get sailing boat masts in the shot . Towards the bottom of this shot you’re able to see a brace people on the lake in kayak , illuminated by the red firework .

I set up for my city ’s annual firework exhibit a few blocks away with my phratry . Fortunately , my office is near to the park where they are shot , but far enough away that I can dodge most of the dealings ! This shot was obtain using my Canon Rebel T4i with a Canon 28 - 135 IS USM telephotograph lense . The ISO was set at 100 with an aperture of 8 . The shutter was go down at Bulb and I used an IR Promaster remote control to master it . I catch tons of great shots that night , but this is one of my favorites because of the shape that was created . Unlike the traditional “ round ” burst , this reminds me of a snake feeder .

This effigy is title “ Explosions in the Sky ” ( yes , just like the band ! ) _ _ _ _ _ _ This retiring fourth of July , I impose a family line friend on the East Coast ( my first time being there ) and had an amazing time . I ’m from California and was amazed at how loyal everyone there was ! We were in North Carolina ; more specifically the Outer Banks ( OBX ) and had our very own beach house for the week . Over there , they go heavy — a vast outdoor stage with bouncy band , parades all twenty-four hour period , and legion shows and attractions . Everyone congregated at around 9 PM and then the live euphony stopped ; all we could here was the buzzing and expectation in the crowd . Then before we knew it one of the biggest and most prominent pyrotechnic shows I ’d regard was play overhead . We were so nigh to the military action that I did n’t call for to whizz along in much to grab this shot . I eff I care it the moment I get wind it . It catch the action , intensity and beauty of the fleeting pyrotechnic that so many people descend to see every yr . This image was shot with my Canon Rebel SL1 fitted with a Tamron 18 - 200 mm lens of the eye . It was shot at ISO 100 , with an aperture of f/4 , a 2.9 second exposure and a 38 mm focal duration ( ~60 millimeter equivalent ) .

I started this challenge with a few different mind on what type of shot I wanted . I wanted my photo to tell a story , I so I frame it with some silhouettes to give it that intuitive feeling of having play with your friends . Since I did n’t have my tripod with me , I observe this challenge particularly difficult . And with minimal illumination , auto - focus was not cash in one’s chips to find . It took a while , but I lastly dialed in the focus and take the scene . My ISO was all the style up ( 3200 ) so I could stay degenerate than 1/20 sec to avoid camera shake . Although in this shot I stepped it down to 1/6th and was still able to avoid ( most ) camera shake . I used Lightroom to add some ‘ soda ’ and remove some racket .

Shot with a 5D Mkii , 70 - 200 F/4 L IS in Bulb mode at 70 mm on a tripod with Yongnuo shutter release wireless transceivers . ISO set to 50 since I get it on I ’d be doing long exposures . With Independence twenty-four hour period falling on a Thursday , and having to do work the next day , I decided to continue the tradition of found dependable and sane fireworks in my driveway , while everyone around me was lighting M-80s and the corresponding . None of the niece and nephews were come over , so the fireworks were strictly for my photographic pleasure . I choose this jibe because it looked different than all of my others , which were recognizable as fireworks . This one looks reminiscent of many different things , though I have a backbreaking clip seek to discover it .

My name is Carl Basdeo and this is my submission , “ Event Horizon ” . This Fourth of July , my full cousin and I resolve to make our own firework like our aunts and uncles did when they were immature . We tied steel wool to a wire , light up the wool on ardour , and make the spectacle in the photograph by swinging the telegram , showering the plaza with molten metal . There were many underage burning , especially one cousin who somehow always seemed to be stand up in the wrong place at the wrong time everytime . However , it will be remembered as the greatest Independence Day we ’ve had together . From the many pic taken during that night , this exposure really conveys the epic - ness we all feel . The photo was taken with a Canon T3 , 18 - 55 mm outfit lens , 18 mm , f/8 , 1/4 , ISO 3200 .

Last year ’s submission was made without a tripod or remote shutter . This year , I do up with a tripod and removed shutter on my Sony Alpha a65 with a neat fifty lens . I left the lens somewhat open at f/6.3 and had exposures wander from a second to about a minute . This shot was disclose for about three endorsement and edited in Lightroom with some middling generic cleanups . I really wish how the framing worked out found on my location ( which I did n’t get to choose ) and the location of the fireworks ( which I definitely did n’t get to choose ) .

Title : Color Spatter Place : Bradley Beach , NJ Camera : D90 Lens : Tokina 100 mm Macro ISO : 200 The July fourth firework has become a category custom for us ever since our daughter was born . This twelvemonth we went out to the very first beach that she visited as a baby , Bradley Beach , NJ . It was quite special for us to see her maneuver and remember how tiny she had been on her first visit . She was not really look forward to the fireworks as she was still a short frightened of it . But once the pyrotechnic jump , another first happened for her , as she began to enjoy the beautiful colors that the pyrotechnic were paint across the sky . As an sum bonus we could also see other fireworks displays going on along the Jersey shore right from where we were sit on the nerveless breezy beach . I want to experiment a piddling with the mental picture , this fourth dimension so I scud it all using my macro lens . The pyrotechnic seemed to look like welding spark , to me , bright , clear and intense !

Visiting my husband ’s family for the holiday , we make up one’s mind at the last min to go watch fireworks . stop up in the parking lot of a Home Depot in Freehold , NJ , learn the firework through trees , above the building . I had my tripod but was obviously missing the plateful , so I just balanced my camera on it and went with a short exposure duration . I kind of like the featheriness that happened with my slight palpitation , though . ISO 400 , 52 millimeter , f/3.5 , 2.5 seconds with my Nikon D80 and AF - S DX VR Zoom - Nikkor 18 - 200 mm lens .

I took this shot on July 4th at a firework show near my sister ’s school in Summerville , SC . I had some issue getting enough scene because of a few reasons . I set up rather nigh to where the firework were being launched , the fireworks were pip rather low , the wind was blow the green goddess toward me ( thus each burst was light up the roll of tobacco and creating a blur in most every pictorial matter ) and across the street the school day had its floodlights on which created some nasty light pollution . I used a Canon EOS Rebel T1i , with a18 - 55 mm lens of the eye , my place setting were : ISO 100 , f/3.5 with a 2 second exposure and I was shooting in RAW . For post processing I used Photoshop CS6 to do clean up some of the smoke and light pollution from the school .

After grill and playing ladder golf game all day , my wife and I decided to get a close - up of the fireworks on Fort Lauderdale beach . The beach was pack but we care to witness a small patch of sand to fix - up a few towel on . It always amazes me how crowded the beaches get during holiday compared to a normal day . The fireworks were launched from a barge only a few hundred yards from shore . I was fortunate enough to get a few images I liked but I really bask the variety of colors in this particular photo . After a farseeing sidereal day in the sun and my part of adult sal soda , I did n’t think I would be participating in this challenge . It turned out my spot by the campfire not only had a great perspective of the fireworks show , but also a jaggy piece of rock’n’roll to hold my GorillaPod and camera . This shot was taken at the belittled community of Sunland Estates , just outside of Quincy , WA . This small spit of soil sits just below the Gorge Amphitheatre on the Columbia River . Being so for compass north and west , we had to wait until almost 10:00 before it was dark enough below the drop-off to see the pyrotechnic show . shoot with a Canon 7D and a Canon 18 - 135 millimetre lens . Shot at 18 mm , f/22 , 5 2d picture with the ISO set at 500 . As this is my first time submit to a Shooting Challenge , I decided not to do any redaction other than slim cropping .

Thanks to my wife ’s work we were able-bodied to score a primo spot to watch the Seattle pyrotechnic on Lake Union . We got there ahead of time and I got my tripod apparatus on the utter spot . Everybody attending grow really into it and would shout “ Did you get that one ? ! ” after a really prissy explosion . It was a hatful of fun to see everyone get emotional about photography . I got quite a few good shot , but this one stands out because of least amount of smoke , multiple explosions , beautiful colour and the nice sparkle trails on the bridge circuit in the desktop . tv camera : Canon t3i . 55 millimeter at f/11 , ISO 100 and 7 sec picture .

Equipment Camera : Nikon D800 Lens : Nikon 18 - 105 mm DX Aperture : F/14 & 11 Shutter speed : 15.0 Sec ISO : 50 My married woman and I drop this past weekend in Catalina Island , California and had a blast . I eff there would be fireworks so I fetch my camera . Upon chink in to my hotel I went out reconnoiter to find the good place for my shot or where to position myself for get the shot I desire . Unfortunately I found the sodding speckle but due to transportation and the strick limitation they have on the island I cloud not get the the spot I had previously wanted . As the time got closer I decided to find the coloured place I swarm find , so that I would n’t get any unaccented contaminant from the street lights . I found the perfect place near the shore called “ Lovers Cove ” . It was tar dark and the perfect place to set up . I took multiple ikon and then go back into photoshop and layered them together . I change the go mode to “ Lighter colour ” bringing in only the colors and leaving my foreground lightlessness as the night . That s all their is too it , I had a bam shooting this challenge as it was my first time entering . This is really also my first time ever taking pictures of fireworks so it took me a span of shots to get the exact scope to capture it the elbow room I think it =)

canyon EOS Rebel T4i – 18 mm – ISO200 – f/10 – 5 sec This was my first foray into Fireworks Photography with my newly buy DSLR . ( I ’ve had it less than 3 calendar month prison term . ) I had never really shot fireworks before except on my iPhone , so I figured why not just throw myself in the deep remnant and shoot on the 4th of July , I very briefly read up on pic articles and blogs and follow links on your land site to get a canonical sympathy of what I needed to do to shoot fireworks . As expect , several things did not go well . I did n’t scout my localisation at all , I just picked what was useable to me on Mt Washington in Pittsburgh and hop for the good . I set up my tripod ( which I bought the Nox before ) , on smoke , not flat pavement and got my camera and background quick with 5 min to spare before the show started . The lens I used was the 18 - 55 mm lens that come with my camera kit and I had no idea if I focused to infinity decently as there was nothing on the electron lens to let me indicate or allow me recognize . My one saving grace was probably the wireless remote I buy along with my tripod the night before . I basically stood beside my television camera and just snap exposure with my wireless distant pointing back at the receiver on the front of the DSLR . It may have looked odd for any onlooking person , but it permit me to approximate the timing of the fireworks with both my eyes on the actual show and not with one eye in the finder , which I call up helped me enamor the photograph I ’m present successfully . This was n’t my most interesting barb of the night , but the one I feel is most significative of what I want to see at a firework show . A great deal of red , clean and aristocratic .

I shot this with an Olympus e620 , with the 70 - 300 mm zoom lens . I was on a bridge with my admirer to view our town ’s fireworks show , and the little girl and her mother next to me kept lighting sparklers and throwing those picayune poppers . She would offer them as well to us as well , and tell us “ shed them at the same clip , ” or give us candy . She was really cunning and it look like she was having a lot of merriment , so I imagine this was a cool barb .

Title : Custer ’s Last Stand to begin with I was very excited about this shot challenge because I was going to be at Mount Rushmore on the 4th of July , what could be more ‘ merica than that ! However , when we have there we discovered that they no longer do firework because of fire peril . Disappointed , we ventured through a few belittled towns take care for firework show and landed on Custer , South Dakota where we really ended up seeing one of the best firework presentation I ’ve ever seen . I was annoy at first when this couple take the air through my scene , but in the remainder I decided to make them a part of it and they handle not to move at all for the 13 seconds it take to take the shot .
