Okay , there ’s probably not a scene of Ian McKellen jumping out of an exploding helicopter in this moderate play , but it ’s a little difficult to make bee - holding and Sherlock Holmes battling his own failing memory put up out compared to the late Avengers drone . Which is a shame , because any flick that reunite McKellen and Gods and Monsters director Bill Condon will in all likelihood be moderately great .
