Could water be forming on the crimson planet right now ? Astrobiologist Nilton O. Renno is here to answer all our questions about Mars , its habitability , and how water could flow on its surface .
Renno is a prof at the University of Michigan ’s department of Atmospheric , Oceanic , and Space Sciences . He was also co - investigator for Phoenix , NASA ’s 2007 mission to Mars . His research has pore on thermodynamics , atmospheric electrification and the habitableness of Mars .
Most recently , he ’s been focused on the development of the Michigan Mars Environmental Chamber ( MMEC ) , a chamber used to feign Mars environmental conditions : temperatures , CO2 air pressure and relative humidity . Renno recently used the chamber for a study of whether those condition might allow for the formation of liquid water . The results of this study , which intimate that condition could indeed be conducive to the formation of body of water , werepublished in Geophysical Research Letterslast week .

Renno will be join us from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. ( peaceable time ) , so start ask him questions now about Mars , H2O organization , and the implications for habitability right now .
