This week onBates Motel : Norma storms off , repeatedly . Norman attempts to reduce his happiness , repeatedly . Shelby acts creepy , repeatedly . There ’s also a shot and a shocking discovery ( not repeatedly ) . Here we go !
Do Not Pass Go. Do Not Collect $200.
In character last hebdomad left you wondering about how far Bradley and Norman went in their grief - stricken make out session , I think we have our answer . In the adorable morning light , Norman pulls his clothes on and gaze at the still - drowse Bradley , then leans over to almost - but - not - quite stroke her hair . ( Sweet or mildly creepy-crawly ? ) Also , she appear to be wearing a venter chain . Do mass really still fag out those ?
His walk home base prompt me of the trance - like promenade he took for the late - night raid on Officer Shelby ’s house a mates of hebdomad ago , but his expression could not be more different . Instead of barely - suppressed rage , Norman is now barely suppressing a smiling . lettuce that , he ’s not suppress it at all . He tries to play it cool when he walks into the kitchen to find Dylan use up a bowling ball of Rainbow Crunchies , but he just ca n’t seem to help oneself himself . He even break into a half - chuckle , but his mood is abruptly better when Dylan inform him that Norma is in jail .
The brothers go to see her in the gaol . You know that super - cliche saying , “ If momma ai n’t happy , ai n’t nobody happy ” ? When it come to Norma Bates , that ’s not lip service — it ’s truth .

“ How do we help ? ” Norman asks her .
“ I ’m glad you wanna help , Norman , really , that ’s braggy of you . Any female parent would be break in half by suchdevotion , ” she spits .
Dylan set out to mention using the hotel as collateral for her $ 100,000 bail when Norma interrupts , saying that it ’s unneeded . “ This is just a braggart mistake . It ’s all gon na clear itself up , ” she insist .

“ Given everything that happened , you do n’t need any service ? ” Dylan bring up his supercilium , and Norman immediately looks guilty . Kid has no poker expression . Norma buck Norman a wounded look , then screams at them both to leave .
“ ma , I wanna help you . Please , ” Norman repeats , but Norma refuses to count at him .
Nevertheless , Norman go back to the motel and starts hunting for the deed . Emma walk in . She ’s heard about the murder accusation .

“ How ’d you hear already ? ” Norman wonders .
“ Big newsworthiness in a small town , Norman , ” she say , and anyone who grew up in a small town is wittingly wander their oculus right now . It does n’t even have to be big news to make the gossip factory in a minuscule town . I once order something private to a friend while we were out riding bikes and my mom have intercourse about it by the time I got home . To be middling , I was plausibly talking too loud .
“ Damn , that ’s got ta suck , ” Emma sympathizes , then hopefully adds , “ You ’re welcome to come rest with us . ” Norman allow her down easy , enounce thanks , but he ’s got this brother , you have sex ? Then , jackpot ! He finds the deed .

Friends Don’t Let Friends Bail Their Mothers Out Alone
While Dylan ’s traipsing through the woods with Ethan , he nonchalantly asks if he thinks their knob would give him an cash advance of , say , five grand ?
Ethan laughs and shakes his straits , adding , “ I ’ve seen what they do to people who owe them money . ”
Dylan intends to use the cash on a place for himself and Norman , so this is n’t really the response he ’s hoping to hear . He shrug it off and says he ’ll figure something out on his own .

A&E / Joseph Lederer
While Dylan is stress to raise money to get out of his mother ’s house , Norman is render to raise money to get his female parent back into her house . While he and Emma hold back at “ Jonn ’s Bail Bonds ” for Jonn to return , Norman decides it ’s the perfect chance to mention that the sex hard worker girl is real . He mentions that he find her in a copper ’s basement , and Emma freaks out , immediately calling it a police conspiracy .
“ You ’re freaking out , ” he says .
“ I ’m not freak out out , ” she insist .
“ You ’re freak out out all over Italy , ” is Norman ’s response . Is that a veridical set phrase ? I ’m not familiar . He gets her to calm down down by promise that they ’ll help the girl , but they ’re not going to the self-confidence . His female parent is in enough trouble without get her shuffle up in this as well .
His promise is enough to assuage Emma . She snog him , but he ’s decidedly less enthused about her affection than he was a few episodes ago . Then Jonn shows up . Before Norman goes in to chat with the local friendly bondsman , Emma has one last dubiousness for him .
“ Norman ? Did she do it ? I would n’t blame her . Keith Summers was a pig . ”
Norman , of course of action , deny it .
Hell Hath No Fury Like Norma Bates
“ It was majuscule see u last nite , ” Norman texts Bradley , and part of me decease a little . His weirdly proper grammar and vocabulary does n’t transmit through his quarter round , I guess .
He immediately get a response , but it ’s not Bradley . It ’s Jonn .
“ Ur mammy ’s bail has been posted and she will be release at 9 am tomorrow sunrise . ” Do bail bondsman really text ? ?
At 9 a.m. , Norman is waiting at the jail with “ please forgive me ” flush when Norma is released . “ make for you flowers , ” he articulate , say the obvious . “ I find cab money . ”
“ You use it . I ’m walking , ” Norma wry face .
“ Mom , c’m on . ”
“ Do n’t you ‘ mom c’m on ’ me . I have nothing to say to you . ”
Later , at attorney Rebecca Craig ’s situation , she ’s still make good on that statement .
“ Mother , when are you run to attend at me ? ” Norman pleads .
She pointedly stares at him without saying a tidings .
Ms. Craig has barely started asking questions about the caseful when Norma purse her lips . Something is distinctly not sit down right with her . “ If you do n’t mind me asking , how one-time are you , exactly ? ” Rebecca responds that she ’s 33 , which seems to further agitate Norma . As her attorney tries to tack together what happened , Norma break again . “ It sounds like you ’re examine to make up a story , ” she says .
“ You are charged with slaying . I ’m talking to you about your defence , ” Rebecca responds , slightly unbelievingly .
“ I do n’t ask a defence mechanism . I did n’t do it . ”
Rebekah mentions the motel carpet fibre found under Keith Summers ’ picket . “ It ’s hard to refute DNA evidence , ” she explains .
“ I do n’t deal . harmonize to whom ? Who ’s running these trial ? I wanna run my own tests , ” she rants . “ I ’m not going to walk into a court of law and say that I did it in self defence just to make your job easier . I did n’t do it . I ’m done here , ” and she surprise out . Vera Farmiga is very ripe at storming out .
“ infer we ’re leaving , ” Norman says sheepishly .
By the manner , if I had to infer , I ’d say the name “ Rebecca ” is a little nod to Hitchcock ’s Oscar - win movie by the same name . There ’s also an instalment ofAlfred Hitchcock Presentscalled “ Craig ’s Will , ” starring Dick Van Dyke .
On the way home , Norman accuses his female parent of being undue .
“ You do not worry about me , ” is her wholly unreasonable response . “ You run short out and you got lay that night I was crying in my room worried sick about all of this , about what could bechance , about me being take away from you and put in clink . You endure out andyou got laid . ”
Norman tears up and admits to the whole matter . Remember that stove poker face ? Still non - actual . Norma demands to be intimate who Norman was with , but he wo n’t criminate Bradley . stall at that barrier , Norma looks for somewhere else to purpose her rage . She settle on chew up Norman for giving Dylan details about her ravishment and the Summers murder . He explain that he needed someone to talk to .
“ You do things that do n’t make horse sense , mummy . You daunt me . I ’m frightened , OK ? I intend you might necessitate help . ”
Hell hath no fury like Norma Bates pooh-pooh by her own son . She unleash the fury on Norman :
“ I scare you ? All I have ever done was strain to give you a nice life . Get out of my railcar . ”
“ It ’s like 10 miles to our business firm , ” Norman protest .
“ If I ’m so damn shivery , get the snake pit out of my car , ” she scream .
When Norman refuse to move , she stomps over to his side of the car and physically off him , then drives away . relinquish to the fact that he ’s arrest a moment of a trek ahead of him , Norman starts plodding down the route . He ’s at it for possibly 20 irregular when Dylan comes by on his motorcycle .
“ Welcome to the doghouse , ” Dylan says , and Norman hops on the back of the bike . In spite of himself , Norman really enjoy the drive . He even smiles and laugh as Dylan slue the bike a piddling number .
Back at the house , Norman explain to Dylan that their female parent is just going through a lot aright now . “ She’salwaysgoing through a lot , ” Dylan says . “ She ’s like an addict . And when you have an addict in your life , the best thing you’re able to do for them — and yourself — is to just take the air away . ”
Norman allege he ca n’t just walk away ; Dylan disagrees .
“ Of course you do . We all do . I entail , is n’t that the dot ? You leave the nest . ”
Norman looks doubting , so Dylan tell him that he ’s getting his own planetary house , and he require Norman to move in with him . We can go for , Motelguests , but you and I both know how this is going to finally end .
Drug Trafficker With a Heart of Gold
Ethan and Dylan are bro - ing around when Ethan tosses Dylan a bag .
“ I got some food at that bagel storehouse by Bayview . think you might be thirsty . ”
As he get back into the passenger side of Ethan ’s truck , Dylan opens the grip . It ’s lolly , alright , but not in bagel form .
“ Um … what ’d you do , pluck the bagel shoes ? ” Dylan asks .
“ It ’s my money , but I hump you ’re unspoiled for it , ” Ethan says . It ’s $ 5000 , meant for Dylan to get that seat by the ocean he ’s been stargaze of .
Then one of Ethan ’s “ associates ” stops by the truck , make a morsel of modest talk through the open window , and suddenly shoot him in the neck .
After a moment of horror-struck shock , Dylan springs into action , giving Ethan something to keep pressure on the combat injury , then jump into the gadget driver ’s seat . They get to the hospital , where the nanny asks the victim ’s name as she ’s debase him onto a gurney .
“ Ethan , ” Dylan says , but looks at a loss when they require a last name . He separate when Ethan is taken into surgical operation and doctors and nurses set forth to indicate at him with funny looks on their faces .
Evidence Tampering for Dummies
Norma and Shelby are have one of their talks - in - the - motortruck . He apologise that he had to be the one to arrest her , then allege they should n’t see each other for a while .
“ Just do n’t . Stop , ” she says . She ’s get ready to do one of her patented storm - offs when Shelby basically slams her against her railway car to stop her . He also recite her to shut up . “ I love you , you idiot . ” Rhett Butler , he ’s not , but it must crop for Norma , because she snog him .
“ I ’m gon na guess of something , ” he promises , and he does : grounds tamper .
He kick the bucket back into the place and asks if the Sheriff is in . He ’s not , so Shelby pretends to not get it on where some forms are . When the secretary obligingly goes to find them , Shelby unplugs the surveillance cameras , grab keys from Romero ’s desk and gets into grounds lockup . tire baggies over his hands , he regain the vigil with the carpet fiber and take it ( we assume ) . Then he stop up the television monitors back in just in clock time to receive those forms he did n’t really necessitate .
Meanwhile , Dylan ’s drive Ethan ’s bloody truck around townsfolk . For a guy who did n’t need to attract aid to himself at the infirmary , driving a motortruck with a blinking jam blown through the windowpane seems a little high-risk to me . He spots the lonely gunman wandering around by the loading dock , and , without vacillation , runs over the guy .
Shelby Slips
At a coffee shop , Emma is looking up “ properties possess by Keith Summers ” on the internet . Through the illusion of telecasting web browsing , she discovers that he owned a boat name “ The SeaFairer . ”
Also doing a niggling surfing ? Norma . She ’s checking out the Bates Motel web site , which looks fitly amateurish , when the phone ring . It ’s Rebecca Craig , who tells Norma that her worries are over , because — surprisal , surprise — the carpet fiber sample has gone missing . “ Without that evidence , they have no case , ” her attorney says .
Inside , Norman ’s dialing Bradley on his earphone .
“ Hey , it ’s Bradley , ” Bradley says , and Norman tell , “ Oh hey ! ” before he finds out it ’s her voicemail . Been there , done that . This is just the start of the babbling , though . Here ’s what he leaves on her voicemail , in all of its awkward teenage glory :
as luck would have it , he has no time to overanalyze his horribly unenviable voicemail because Norma speed in , loaded with the fact that they lost the evidence . She bosom Norman — apparently all is forgiven — but he ’s confused about how evidence could just disappear .
“ I ’m fairly sure it was Zack , ” she say .
“ So Mr. Wonderful saves the Clarence Shepard Day Jr. again . What ’s he expire to make you do for this one ? ” he asks , and her face falls .
Emma pulls up outside just as Norman is fleeing the house . “ Just get me out of here , ” he distinguish her . She obligate , taking him to the shore . After shape that Norman does n’t want to talk about his home crisis , Emma launches into the latest on the sexual practice slave situation .
“ So I ’m going , like , if I had an Asian sex slave , where would I hide her ? ” Emma says . She ’s making some good points about lake house and cabins , but Norman is cark by his telephone set . Emma calls him out on it .
“ Emma , I ’m kind of with Bradley now , ” Norman says . “ With , like with , we ’re together ; we like each other . ”
“ What is this based on ? ” Emma asks .
“ I catch some Z’s with her . Two nights ago . ”
Emma pauses . “ That does n’t really mean anything you know ? ”
“ It means you hooked up . ”
He disagrees , BECAUSE THEY ARE IN LOVE .
“ It was a assemblage . ”
“ It was more , ” he insist .
“ Did she change her family relationship status ? ” she sagely asks .
Norman does n’t respond .
“ Hook up . ” She pass over a bout from her nerve . Norman rolls his eyes .
“ So , you were google something ? ” he pronounce .
Emma cuts to the chase : She think Shelby and Keith Summers were in on the sex slave business together . “ If you were in an illegal business sector with someone , and that soul died , might you not utilise their belongings to hide something or someone ? Keith Summers own a boat . ”
Our investigator manoeuver to the marina , of course of instruction . They find out Keith ’s slip—815 , aLostreference , Mr. Cuse?—and , perhaps using some residuary Bradley ira , Emma use her oxygen tank to break the padlock . They rummage around for a snatch and follow up empty - handed , until Norman open what look like a locker door , and a girl springs off , screaming and boot .
They manage to get her in Emma ’s car , but by the clip they get back to Bates Motel , she ’s fade out in the backseat . Emma helps Norman get the young woman into a room , and I have to believe that the motel way where she was chained up and abuse is probably one of the last places this girl wants to be , come in only behind Shelby ’s basement and a locker in a boatslip .
Norma is locking up the motel front office when she sees Emma ’s machine parked out front . win over the two of them are shack up in a motel “ getting laid , ” as she would put it , Norma throws launch the motel door and is stunned when she hear what ’s happening .
“ I need to know what the three of you are doing in the motel way , because right now it does n’t look too respectable , ” Norma says . Norman reminds his mom that he told her about this girl locked up in Shelby ’s basement , and she accused him of lying , which she does again now . Luckily , the missy is coherent enough to back up Norman ’s story .
“ I ’m sorry , heartfelt , I ’m sorry , ” Norma shakes her head . “ I ’m just saying , there must be some error . It ’s not the same humanity . It ’s not Zack . ” She head for the hills back to the office and flips through a paper to find a picture of Shelby from a lumberjack rival . She takes it back to the motel elbow room and shows the fille .
“ He ’s the man , ” the girl sustain , twice , her heart wide with reverence .
“ I ’m sorry , ” Norman says to his mother . “ I ’m sorry . I told you . ”
