We ’ve largely ignored digital satellite radio here on Gizmodo . Sure the sound caliber was better , but the offerings seem rather lusterless , the monthly fees are too high , and the fact that both XM and Sirius seem teetering on the edge of bankruptcy provides an even corking disincentive to invest in the equipment . But now steady terrestrial AM and FM radio stations are going digital . It ’ll call for new radio set , but there wo n’t be subscription fees . The only problem is that the US has adopted a different criterion from the residue of the world . Great .
