The Doctor is still in . Jodie Whittaker has confirmed she will return for another season ofDoctor Who . Brilliant !
While the BBC has n’t formally confirm who is playing the Doctor in the next season of Doctor Who , it seemed obvious that Whittaker was n’t going anywhere . Whittaker toldthe Hollywood Reporterexclusively that she “ ca n’t expect ” to come back for time of year 12 of Doctor Who , which is expected to start film in other 2019 .
“ I really ca n’t wait to ill-use back in and get to figure out again , ” Whittaker read . “ It ’s such an incredible role . It ’s been an extraordinary journey so far and I ’m not quite ready to pass it over yet . ”
Neither are we , Jodie .
Whittaker ’s time in the TARDIS — which came alongside a full shift modification , with Chris Chibnall assume over as showrunner — has helped revitalise the series . Not only did it blow the show’shighest - rated time of year premieresince the series reboot , but it ’s also given us an amazing interpreting of an iconic character with an every bit amazing radical of friends .
Dr. Who will air its season 11 finale on Sunday , followed by aNew Year ’s Day specialon January 1 , 2019 .
