If you rememberApple gave the FCCthis precious stone of a response : “ Contrary to published study , Apple has not rejected the Google Voice program , and continues to hit the books it . The app has not been approved … ” They did n’t reject it , they simply had n’t approved it . Right .

Google’spulled the confidentiality requestoff its reaction to the FCC ’s inquiry , and they say it was rejected . There are some other noteworthy morsel inthe full doc ( PDF ) , like that Phil Schiller himself break the news program on July 7 they were rejecting GV to Google ’s VP of Engineering and Research Alan Eustace , and that part of the reason Applerejected Google Latitudeis that they were actually afraid it might replace the core Maps app , since it offered Modern feature Maps did n’t have .

It ’s absolutley awe-inspiring to see this form of fear on Apple ’s part , given the situation they ’re in with the iPhone . Because that ’s what these two rejections boil down to : fear . Still , things could get way more interesting , so detain tuned . [ Google , WSJviaLoop Insight ]
