Both Tommy and Karen have close ties to Michael Myers , an enigmatic character whose traditional knowledge has changed throughout the Halloween series but remains passably stripped - down in Green ’s film . “ One of the things that I heard David speak about , which was really interesting to me , was that there ’s actually a very limited mythology about Myers . We do n’t really know what take a shit him tick , ” Hall suppose . “ Just his presence , I think , inspires a lot and citizenry do it to see him terrorize . That ’s something engrossing , that [ repugnance moving picture audiences ] all have that desire to be scared or to be shocked .
