Apple ca n’t seem to keepits new earpiece under wrapsto save its life : there are leaked images , phones left in bars , you name it , and an Apple employee has done it . So how the snake pit did Samsung keep the SIII a secret ?
In truth , there were afew leaked photographsjust before its launching , but it was impossible to mould out how the telephone would look from them . In an amusing post onSamsung ’s own blog , the caller explains how it hold on its cards tight to its chest . Largely , a lot of surd work . WooSun Yoon , a Principal Engineer , explain :

“ There were many prototypes and yes , it takes more time and effort to make more working prototypes . It ’s even more difficult when you ’re commit those to different places for examination and yet at the same time hiding it from everyone . Time constraints pushed me to take a lot of helicopter ride back and forth . I ’m glad we were able to keep the new GALAXY S IIIunder wraps to the oddment , but I ca n’t accent enough how unvoiced it was . ”
They also seem to take hiding the earphone from pry eyes very , very in earnest too — even within ship’s company edifice . Another engineer , WooSun Yoon , uphold :
“ We had to make three types of the GALAXY SIII to forbid the design from leaking . And on top of that , whenever any of these had to go out for testing , we put them inside ‘ dummy boxes ’ , which are case that obliterate the design of the equipment , to disguise it . Even if people , in spite of appearance or out of the campus , saw the equipment , I doubt they would have known what it was . ”
But perhaps most importantly , there seems to be a very rigid sensation of keeping body of work in the workplace at Samsung . ByungJoon Lee , yet another engineer , explain :
“ My firstborn son is in 6thgrade . He knew that I had worked on theGALAXY S and S II.So I judge he assumed that I ’d do S III also . Every fourth dimension he saw an article on the internet about the GALAXY S III he ’d ask ‘ Dad ! You ’re hit the S III , correct ? ’ But all I could say was ‘ I do n’t really hump . ’ It was really unenviable . ”
All of which ca-ca you marvel what the Apple company insurance is . At one point , it clearly included look at prototypes to the measure and proceeding to drink a lot . [ Samsung ]
