I also appreciate the path the newscaster clarifies that the “ leap moment is like a leap year – only short . ” Seconds are shorter than days ! Good to know .
I feel sorry for the misfortunate guy from NIST who was land in as an expert and obviously quote way out of context in this section . He ’s explaining something a muckle more complicated than “ atmospheric condition makes the Earth decelerate down . ” But ripe sometime ABC made it sound as if he really think the only intellect we need a leap second is that we had a lot of snowmelt .
dependable to know that as we charge into the year 2009 , scientific discipline reporting is getting even better at the major networks . believably for the best that CNNfired Miles O’Brien along with its whole Earth and space coverage team – as this ABC section makes open , any old individual can understand teh sience .
