HensonandSam Rockwellhad a major throwback Thursday moment on ABC’sGood Morning America.The costars appeared on the show to promote their upcoming movieBest of Enemieswhen host Michael Strahan surprised them with their senior year pictures.“It’s Thursday, so we did a little digging, went back to some high school senior year photos and we came up with these two for you guys,” Strahan says as the pictures pop up. “How long did it take you to do the hair in the morning?”“It took me a minute,” Henson, 48, says. “That was before wigs, honey, that’s all my hair. And it was like four different hair styles in one head.”“Three hours at least,” Rockwell, 50, jokes of his cut.Rockwell and Henson star inBest of Enemiesas civil rights leader Ann Atwater and Ku Klux Klan leader C. P. Ellis as they become unlikely allies while working together to decrease violence in the recently desegregated schools in North Carolina.But the two had been wanting to work together for years, and Rockwell knew they were a perfect match after seeing Henson in 2005’sHustle & Flow. They later met when Henson found out her 2014’sNo Good Deedcostar Leslie Bibb was dating Rockwell, and the actress introduced the two.“We met through my girlfriend Leslie Bibb, we went to a bar in Brooklyn, hung out and decided we wanted to work together,” Rockwell recalls. “So I was kinda chasing after Taraji for a while and then this thing came up.”Sam Rockwell and Taraji P. The pressure was to get it right.”“She left a voicemail on the director’s phone about Taraji and how excited she was,” Rockwell reveals, with Henson saying that Atwater called her “the Cookie lady,” referring to her character onEmpire.Best of Enemieshits theaters Friday.
